Bald Eagles came back big time to the Iowa River in the past 20 years. I have sat at Iowa River Power Company eating a meal and watched them catch a fish on the river.

Indeed the same is true for Michigan. On our 5 hour ride down from Traverse City to Grand Rapids to Detroit on NYE 2009, we saw 4 bald eagles flying overhead. Before that I had seen 1 in my whole life and 1 more in the previous week Up North.
